Girls are a San Francisco outfit based around the powerful, sad and pure songwriting of Christopher Owens and the ethereal and haunting production of Chet Jr White. The songs that make up their debut LP ‘Album’, written in all night sessions sandwiched inbetween daydreaming shifts on the reception desk of a local hotel, are at once classicist and innovative, strutting and vulnerable, heartbroken and triumphant, intensely personal and effortlessly universal. In short, pop music’s great promise come good.
