There was a shocking development today to the constitutional crisis erupting in the feudal government of the United States of Britain, a small system of islands located to the north west of the European mainland.
SHOCK!
In an unexpected maneuver songwriter and musician Gruff Rhys has formed an emergency government with Brazilian inventor and protest singer Tony Da Gatorra. It is believed they will govern in the name of stability and peace.
CRUNCH TIME FOR DEMOCRACY
Arcane titles such as Prime Minister and Chancellor will be forfitted. In a historical agreement the unelected House Of Lords will be dissolved (literally) and the royal family peacefully relieved from their titles and duties. They will not be replaced.
A BATTLE FOR PEACE.
They will govern in the spirit of hope to unburden us from the terror of cosmic loneliness. ‘Peace be with you brothers and sisters, there is no death, only light, there is no evil when it collides with good will.’ They said yesterday in a joint statement on the steps of 10 Downing st.

ISLET
‘Celebrate This Place’ mini-album
14th June
Shape (Turnstile)
12″, download
Islet are liquid, rotating between instruments, singing, howling.
Drum-duo breakdowns, splashes of guitar, searing organs. Playing music for the joy of the moment.
‘Celebrate This Place’ is a paean to possibility and the joy of sound
and being. It was recorded by the group themselves at home in a
Mid-Wales barn and a Cardiff bedroom.
This, their first record, crosses the danceable electro-wash of Gang
Gang Dance and the careful racket of no-wave, the dulcet harmonies of
Os Mutantes and the rhythmic noisiness of Can.
The group also make ‘ The Isness’, an ongoing visual project which
bridges the gap between zine and artist’s book.
‘Celebrate This Place’, the band’s first release, will be available on
limited 12″ vinyl and digitally from 14th June on Shape (Turnstile).
Those lucky enough to attend their much-praised, incredible live
performances from, and including, the Cardiff launch on 26th May will
be able to get their hands on the vinyl pre-release.
